K.P. Monaco & Associates CPA firm offers personalized and professional accounting, tax, and payroll services to both individuals and businesses. We’re large enough to have a carefully chosen staff of experts who can handle not only the everyday needs of most of our clients but also the very specialized requirements of our clients. Yet, we’re small enough that you’ll feel at home each time you call or visit our office.

Karen Monaco — President, CPA, CFE
Karen, K.P. Monaco’s owner, has 20 years of accounting practice under her belt. With a no-nonsense personality, Karen enjoys crunching numbers and budgets and generally, getting things done. She’s been married since 1981, has raised three children and loves spending time with her family and extended family (her dogs). In 2010, Karen became a Certified Fraud Examiner, and offers assistance in fraud prevention, detection, and deterrence.
Melinda Duke — Staff Accountant
Melinda graduated from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies. She is currently working towards a master’s in Professional Accounting at UT Arlington. Melinda joined the firm in early 2011 and looks forward to learning everything she can from her new friends. She loves to read, spend time with her family, and play with her cat, Rocky, in her spare time and is attempting to achieve the improbable goal of visiting every country in the world. Next stop: Elbonia.
Michele Evans — Payroll Manager & QuickBooks Certified Professional
Michele has been with the firm since 2002, managing payroll and specializing in individual tax return preparation. Additionally, Michele has received advanced Intuit certification as a QuickBooks Certified Professional and gives clients tailored, one-on-one QuickBooks training. She enjoys time at home with her family, gardening, sewing, and reading.
Allan Hopkins — Administrative & Payroll Assistant
Allan has been a resourceful administrative assistant at the firm since 2009, providing essential help with payroll processing. In addition, he is the staff member we run to when we need I.T. help. While he’s not at the office, this easy-going guy is honing his black-belt gaming skills and also tackling the challenges that come with flipping houses.
Molly Marshall — Marketing Manager
Molly graduated Texas Tech University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with minors in English and French. She joined the firm in 2007, providing excellent marketing skills and managing client relations. Molly says she appreciates the open and productive atmosphere of our day-to-day operations. She takes her job very seriously, but when not at the office, Molly enjoys spending time with friends, attending movies and concerts, and boating on the lake.
John Monaco — Financial Advisor
John has been with the firm since 2006. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Personal Financial Planning in 2010. John received his license as a Financial Advisor Representative in 2011, assisting clients with their financial goals, investements,and brokerage and retirement accounts. He enjoys the challenge of option trading, the relaxation of fishing, and the simplicity of jogging.
Paul Monaco — Staff Accountant
Paul graduated Texas Tech University in 2008 and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He is currently working towards a Masters of Science in accounting at the University of Texas at Arlington. Paul has been on our team as a diligent staff accountant since 2006 and is currently working in both corporate and individual taxes, as well as a staff auditor. An avid fisherman, he enjoys reading and participating in intramural leagues through UTA. He is also a member of the UTA chapter, Beta Alpha Psi.
Lindsay Polyak — Marketing & Development
Lindsay has worked in marketing and project coordination for over 10 years. Her left-brain enjoys learning about social networking and search engine optimization, solving problems and yet finding ways to wreck havoc with computing equipment. Her right brain loves photography, creative design, cooking, and performing music (on and off stage). When not working, Lindsay actively volunteers in various capacities in the community.
Cassi Thorn — Administrative Assistant
Cassi is known around our firm for her upbeat outlook and can-do attitude. Her cheerful personality is contagious and helps set a positive tone at our office. She is a lifelong resident of Irving and adores her two children, ages five and nine, and is currently expecting her third. Cassi enjoys spending time with them – going to water parks, boating on the lake, and taking bike rides.
Gator — Security Specialist
Gator is the only member of the K.P. Monaco team who has revealed little about his background and has refused our customary formal background check. Gator was recruited in late 2011 from the Arlington Animal Shelter. He is in charge of all after-hours security functions for K.P. Monaco & Associates. Although he has also been offered a daytime security shift, Gator prefers to spend his days napping and begging for handouts from his co-workers. When he’s not on the job he enjoys short walks, turkey, peanut butter, and more napping.
